Greatest Job In The World

My Mom recently had a hospital stay with her surgery to remove her lung. On the first day she was there she received her first floral arrangement from the local florists in Springfield. The next day a dozen balloons and another larger floral bouquet full of all of her favorite flowers- lillies, roses, etc.. On the third day two more huge floral pieces and a hanging plant. My Mom loves flowers and plants. She can grow anything from the roots. The next day a bunch of roses. By this time she looks like she is staying in a flower garden rather than a drab hospital room. And her side of the room had the sweetest aroma from all of her flowers. It also gave her something to concentrate on besides being sick. She wanted to make sure they had fresh water and did not get too cold by her vent or too overheated from the sun. But the little girl who deleivered the flowers was also an amazing gal. She came in dressed like something out of a magazine in her brightest colors of pink and white. She had a wonderful smile and she looked so full of life and happy. But I thought to myself, she has one of the best jobs in the world and she doesn't even realize it. To deliver flowers to people who are recoving in the hospital, or for birthdays, anniversaries, or to say I love you or I'm sorry. What a great way to wake up every day of your life- bringing a small bouquet of happiness into someone's world.
Mom is back at home now and yes- it took a whole cart just to bring her flowers down to my vehicle, but how wonderful! She is now slowly recooperating at home and her kitchen is decorated with beautiful splashes of bright colors for her to enjoy. If you want to pick someone up today, send them a small bouquet to let them know you care. It's a great way to make someone smile!
